Folio 75. Letter from Ja [James] Vernon to Mr [Richard de] Hill. Doctor Nortleigh has been given leave to return but Vernon cannot get the same for Mr Barlow as quickly in relation to which he says Barlow would have done better to have made Hill 'a better confidence of his good fortune, it would have looked less like a pretence, and I hope we might both have been capable of keeping the secret'. He goes on to make reference to the people that flock to [Bavaria] from France, 'if they are Irishmen there is little hopes they will ever be good for anything'.
