Consideration by the Lords of their conference with the Commons about Mr Bertie and Lord Abingdon. 28 March. The Commons in committee on the bill for the African trade. One of the points in debate was the Company would reserve for themselves the trade to the northern most parts of the coast, pretending the 'Plantations were little concerned in it, there coming but few negroes from thence, the traffic there being most in gold and elephants' teeth'. 29 March.
