Folio 302. A letter from Ja [James] Vernon to Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall concerning [negotiations for the Treaty of Rijswijk] and the possibility of the Holstein Guarantee being replicated in a separate treaty with Sweden, mentioning: Monsieur Lilierode and Monsieur Leyonerona; relations between France, and Denmark, Wolfenbuttle [Wolfenbüttel] and Munster [Münster]; dangers faced by Flanders. Also mentions the appointments of: Lord Tankerville as a Treasury commissioner; Sir Thomas Littleton as Treasurer of the Navy; and Colonel Mordant as Treasurer of the Ordnance in place of Mr Bertie. [NB: an archival note filed with this letter states that the date of the document, 30 June 1699, is an error, and that the correct date should be 30 May 1699].
