Folio 257. The petition of Samuel Shepheard, Gilbert Heathcote, and Henry Tate. A memorandum of Captain Thomas Gullock, relating to his ship Adventure, owned by London merchant Gilbert Heathcot. Captain Gullock's mutinous crew marooned him on the island of Nayas [Pulau Nias], off Sumatra, East Indies [Indonesia] in March 1698, supported by Dru [Drew] Hacker, gentleman, and William Whiteside, boatswain. A Dutch ships rescued survivors, and landed them at Batavia. Sworn before Holt. Endorsed with the name: Mr Shepheard.
