Refers to: a protest from the Spanish ambassador concerning the Darien scheme; [inaccurate report of the] news of the death of the King of Spain [Carlos II, who suffered from ill health throughout his reign], via [?John] Macky in Dover [Kent], a comment on soldiers ready to fight for the succession; and the resolution of Lord Portland to resign his key.
