Folios 234-235. A letter from Ja [James] Vernon to Mr [Richard] Hill, dated at Whitehall [Middlesex] [concerning diplomatic negotiations]. Refers to: the 'prohibition in Flanders' being sent to the trade commissioners with memorials and prints, and the 'execution of the placarts [placards]'; Mr Abbott's services; Mrs Lynch who has given a letter from the Elector of Bavaria to King [William III], and the consulate of the Queen. Also refers to [Roman Catholic clergy] and another letter delivered by the Spanish ambassador's secretary concerning an Irish priest, with comparison with a recent case of a priest connected to the envoy from Portugal, complaints lodged at Brussels and Madrid [Spain], and Count d'Aversberg.
