A letter from RY [Robert Yard] to Lord Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall [Middlesex] commenting on [negotiations at The Hague, Netherlands], Monsieur 'Lilierode's project of our defensive alliance', mediation proposals, the Treaty of 1695, the Pensioner [the Dutch Grand Pensionary, Anthonie Heinsius], and little expectation of assistance from Sweden. Also reports: a built up of hostile forces in Dunkirk, where [Jacobite] K [King] James [II] is expected; and Lord Portland's meeting with the King [William III] at Kensington [Middlesex].
