Description

Folios 170-171. A newsletter from R [Robert] Yard to Lord Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall, mentioning: a bill preventing the distilling of spirits from corn; a bill for repairing Yarmouth peer [?Great Yarmouth, Norfolk; ?Yarmouth, Isle of Wight]; committee consideration of supply, and the costs associated with maintaining 15,000 men on sea service for 'a summer and winter guard' amounting to £220,000; House of Lord adjournment; Godfrey Copley reporting to the House of Commons, the names of Receivers and Commissioners; state of the navy; the death of Sir Miles Cooke; the embarkation for France of the Duchess of Portsmouth; and Yard's own ill-health.
