A covering letter from Wm [William] Londes to James Vernon, dated at Treasury Chambers, enclosing a copy of the customs commissioners' report on two vessels stopped at Yarmouth [Great Yarmouth, Norfolk] with wool from Scotland. Two copies of the report, dated at Customs House [London], specifying that the French vessels have been released, and the wool impounded signed by Sam [Samuel] Clarke, C Godolphin, Walter Yonge, Ben [Benjamin] Overton, Will [William] St Quintin, and Robt [Robert] Henley. Legal opinions, of Jo [John] Hawles and Tho [Thomas] Trevor concerning how wool is sent to Scotland to be shipped from Leith [Midlothian] to Holland [Netherlands], France, and elsewhere, mentioning Peter Trove, the Mayor of Norwich [Norfolk].
