A covering letter from the customs commissioners to Secretary [James] Vernon, dated at Customs House [London], concerning two French ships seized by Captain John Edwards, which has been the subject of a memorial from the French ambassador. Signed by: C [Charles] Godolphin, Walter Yonge, Sam [Samuel] Clarke; Ben [Benjamin] Overton; and Robt [Robt] Henley. Enclosure: Affidavit of Rich [Richard] Bretton, Customer and Collector of Dover [Kent] mentioning the vessels of John Le Roye, and [Mr] Blair at Ramsgate [Kent].
