An unsigned newsletter to Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall, advising of the planned departure of William Norris as ambassador to the Mogul [Muhi-ud-Din Muhammad, alias Aurangzeb]. Reports parliamentary news: a bill in the House of Lord to regulate the press; a bill for drawing down to 7,000 strong [armed] forces, touching on the regimental structure and the four marine regiments, and the eligibility of subjects of various dominions; the passing of a bill for suppressing Immorality, Profaneness, and Debauchery; second reading of the bill for encouraging woollen manufacture; and a writ for a new election in Chipping Whickam [Wycombe], Buckinghamshire, caused by the inability of the Quaker [?John] Archdale to take the oath.
