Letter from J [John] Ellis to Lord Ambassador Williamson reporting that they are busy dealing with the great number of licences the King has granted for people to stay in England who have been in France or borne arms under the French king or the late king [James ll]; that Charles Duncombe has been committed to The Tower; and the Earl of Macclesfield's divorce is still before the House of Lords 'and is like to be so for some days'.
