Folio 185. RY [Robert Yard] reporting to Sir Jo [Joseph] Williamson. Mr Secretary Trumbull's resignation surprised a great many people; Mr Vernon succeeds him, with a general satisfaction. The great point of the Parliament will be about the land forces; divers country gentlemen are very much set against everything that looks like a standing army. The Lords of the Treasury are to make their report about the excise commission.
