Folio 159. RY [Robert Yard] reporting to Sir Jo [Joseph] Williamson. The King did appoint the Council to meet at Kensington the next day, at which a general thanksgiving was ordered to be held next month, and Parliament to meet the day following. His Majesty sent orders from Flanders for the disbanding of five regiments of foot, three of horse and two of dragoons, now in England; but these orders have not yet been put into execution. Sir Christopher Musgrave, among others to attend the Parliament meeting, is on his journey hither. Several persons have been taken up since the late general search, but nobody of any consideration; however, the same care is continued to examine all persons coming from France. Nothing has been done yet for setting up the packet boat between Dover and Calais, but several passengers pass 'to and fro;' it will be impossible to carry on any trade without a new regulation.
