Folios 155-156. Sir Will [William] Trumbull writing to Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson that in October, he received an anonymous letter from Rotterdam, concerning the transporting of wool from Scotland to Holland. He transmitted a copy to the Earl of Jersey [Edward Villiers], desiring an enquiry might be made. The Earl found out that near 1,000 great bags of English and 'Scotch' wool had been brought from Scotland to Rotterdam 'in the beginning of last month'. Desiring Williamson to inquire as to what may have been transported since, and give his opinion for the prevention of such a trade.
