Folios 139-140. Ja [James] Vernon reporting to Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson. The Duke of Shrewsbury is going to Kensington, where he has taken a house. Marriot [Mariot], has been bailed again, unknown to the Treasury. He is charged with frauds to the amount of £20,000. Knight and Burton have sold their stock in the Bank, amounting to £15,000. Vernon had a letter from Lord [Thomas] Coningsby; he learned of his lady's death, which caused his going away in such haste.
