Folio 102. RY [Robert Yard] reporting to Sir Jo [Joseph] Williamson [Nine Years' War]. All the talk here at present is of the intended reform of the [military] forces. It is said orders have come to disband the regiments of horse of Macclesfield, Windsor and Harvey, the dragoons of Denbigh and Leigh, the foot of Earle, Farrington, Holt, Coote and Noircot [Northcott]. Vice Admiral Mitchell has got to sea with twelve English and eight Dutch men of war, to cruise in the Chops of the Channel and meet the Cadiz fleet. Sir Cloudesley Shovell lies ready in the Downs to attend his Majesty. A messenger is going back to Ireland with bills that are ready: that about the security of the King's person and government is just the Association Act.
