Folio 78(a). Newsletter addressed to Sir Joseph Williamson [Nine Years' War]. Letters from Portsmouth say that Sir George Rooke has ordered the Britannia, Royal William, Ossory and Sandwich to Chatham to be laid up; they only await a fair wind. After they have sailed, Sir George will hoist his flag on board the Content, and remain at Spithead. Sir Humphrey Edwin was elected Lord Mayor of London. A commission is being dispatched for Mr Sympson [William Simpson] to succeed Mr [Robert] Wallop in the office of cursitor baron of the Exchequer.The mony bills and other public bills arrived here from Ireland; and the articles of Limerick passed the House of Lords in Ireland.
