A letter from RY [Robert Yard] to [ambassador] Sir Jo [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall [Middlesex] commenting on the draft treaty [of Rijswijk], affairs at Barcelona, Catalonia [Spain]; the attitudes of [England's ambassador Alexander] Stanhope, the Papal Nuncio, and Count Harach, the Imperial minister; the progress of [Admiral John] Nevill and [French commander] Pointys [Baron de Pointis] in the West Indies, and the likelihood the Spanish will hide their silver. Reports on: the appearance of Lady Macclesfield in the spiritual court, where her excommunication has been rescinded; Sir George Rooke sailing out of the Downes; fears among merchants that [French commander the Marquis of] Nesmond has waylaid the Virginia fleet, and like fears among the East India Company; and regiments marching to encamp at Black Heath [Blackheath, Kent].
