Details of accident: Reader was walking on the outside of the Down Main line with his back to an approaching train, the driver of which was sounding his whistle to warn the man. Reader's mate heard the whistle and shouted to Reader to keep clear, but Reader stepped right in front of the train and was instantly killed.
