Folios 279-281. Folio 279. Letter from Lord Brooke at Warwick to the Duke of Devonshire enclosing a letter from J Williams upon which Brooke seeks instructions. He says that Williams is an officer in the militia and has been useful in apprehending rogues. Folios 280-281. Letter from J Williams at Warwick to Lord Brooke asking his advice about James Bench who, if Brooke could protect his life, could discover of some people coining new money. Williams asks for an assurance that the government can protect both his and Bench's life.
