Folio 200. Letter from Thomas Hearle at Penryn [Cornwall] to James Vernon principally about Captain Tuck's company of soldiers belonging to Major-General Earle's regiment given temporary quarters in Penryn at the request of Lieutenant Norcutt. Hearle says that the company at Falmouth is as much as Penryn can accommodate, there are no quarters at Pendennis, Norcutt's destination, the soldiers are without money 'and the inhabitants are scarcely able to maintain their own families'. Hearle begs that Vernon will endeavour to remove the soldiers and pay the people for their quarters.
