Folios 191-193. Letter from Titus Gershon in Norwich to Sir William Trumbull. He landed in Yarmouth on 11 February last from Hull with goods for which he fully satisfied the customs officers but because he had 13 fine hunting scimitars, the mayor was so incensed that he imprisoned him with his servant. He has been a prisoner since 26 March last, is 'now reduced to the want of all things proper to support life and must here miserably perish for poverty' without Trumbull's intervention and prays for his release so that he may return to his family in Amsterdam.
