Captured ship: Amity of Chalouette (master Jacques Seguinard).
History: a French fishing vessel (14 men), bound from France to the Banks of Newfoundland, laden with salt; taken on 23 August / 5 September 1696, near Carbonear, Newfoundland by the privateer Macclesfield Galley (John Hurle commanding).
