Captured ship: Amity of Le Havre (master Charles Feret).
History: a French fishing vessel (150 tons), bound from the banks of Newfoundland to Le Havre, laden with salted bank fish (cod) and train oil; taken on 23 January / 2 February 1696, off Ushant by HMS Harwich (Andrew Douglas commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
