History: a French privateer (180 tons, 14 guns, 180 men), bound from St Malo on a cruise; taken on 28 August / 7 September 1697 off Guernsey by HMS Rye ([Richard Haddock] commanding) and HMS Betty Prize ([Edward Manning] commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
