Description

Captured ship: Altona of Copenhagen (master Christian Larson).

History: a Danish merchant ship (32 lasts), bound from St Martin to Copenhagen, laden with salt, brandy, wine; taken on 19/29 September 1694, off Dover by the privateer William and Charles (Charles Cawsey commanding), and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 1-CP 2]: three examinations;
  • [CP 3]: claim of Peter Pomeau and Christian Larsen of Copenhagen;
  • [CP 4]: attestation that the crew of the privateer have drunk some of the brandy and wine;
  • [CP 5]: sea protest.
