Folio 267. Letter from William Davis, merchant, to Mr [Thomas] Hopkins at Secretary Vernon's office about a libel 'List of One Unanimous Club of Members that met at the Vine Tavern in Long Acre' 'wherein the members of the late Parliament are inserted at large loading them with most base and abominable crimes'. Davis asks that the authors and publishers be taken into custody for a speedy punishment and names the printer and publisher as John Bradford and the publishers and sellers of the late 'Legion, Corruption of the House of Commons' as Thrusterum Savage and Elizabeth Cooper of the 'Crooked Billett' near Puddle Dock. He says that Michael Hastings and William Bird can give evidence.
