Folios 129-130. [Colonel [Maurice] Hussey to James Vernon] letter on various matters including his offer to raise a regiment of 1,500 men in Ireland for the King's service to be employed or sent wherever the King saw fit in any part of Europe; the present state of King James's finances from which his family and attendants do not benefit as what can be spared 'is reserved to be sent to Scotland, when he sees occasion for it. Tho' he has been sufficiently bubbel'd already (nay lately) by that country'; and payment of his pension. He mentions Mr Wellbye, Lord Portland, the Duke of Florence [Cosimo lll de' Medici], the Pope [Clement Xl], the Duke of Barwick [Berwick, James FitzJames], 'Dic' [Richard] Hamilton, Mr Da Lawne and Captain Waller.
