Folios 107-108. Letter from Ja [James] Vernon to Monsieur Marmande. 'I have received your letter of 12th instant new style and have laid it before his Majesty. You do well to be exact in observing all that passes in so critical a conjecture and you must take care to transmit constant accounts thereof. Sir Charles Hedges having succeeded me in the Northern Province it will be my business now to send you what directions I shall receive from his Majesty'. Copy.
