Folios 73-74. Ja [James] Vernon, Whitehall, to Monsieur Marmande. 'I have received your letters of the 20th, 24th and 31st instant New Style. I am glad the Spanish Ambassador begins to treat us more favourably whatever his motives may be. I don't know who this Pascal is that they talk of sending hither, I don't doubt but in the winter they will have a man of figure and character here. As this is like to be a busy time everywhere you will keep the same exactness in continuing your correspondence'. Copy.
