Folios 65-66. Jno [John] Sansom, Custom House, London, to John Ellis, secretary to James Vernon, letter concerning the French vessel stopped at Dover with three hogsheads of brandy which the Commissioners of Customs believe were to be smuggled ashore. Sansom mentions one Green with whose examination the Commissioners are not all satisfied having frequently heard of him 'for illegal practices relating to the Revenue'.
