Folios 61-62. Letter dated at Rigsby [Lincolnshire] from Tho [Thomas] Jackson, a justice of the Peace for Yorkshire, to Henry [Compton], Bishop of London regarding John Smith who was brought before him for robbery and claims to be related to the Bishop. Smith says that he was introduced to 'vagrant course of begging' by Tymothy [Timothy] Crone and James Crone whose brother Matthew Crone was tried for plotting against the King. Their father now goes by the name of Captain Crow and the family lives in hope of a change of government 'and do much mischief by pretending and making use of' the Bishop's name and that of Lord Cutts [John Cutts]. Jackson gives the address of Crone/Crow and his wife and hopes the Bishop will take every care for their discovery.
