Folios 54-57. Folios 54-55. Report of [Sir] C [Charles] Hedges to the King recommending that the petition of Captain William Passenger, commander of HMS Shoreham, for salvage on an abandoned ship 'The King David' be granted. The petitioner took possession of the vessel and sent her into Dartmouth following which a monition was taken out of the Admiralty Court to call all to show cause why the ship and goods should not be condemned to the King. Subsequently the claim of Paul Vogt and others of Christiana, Norway to the ship and goods was upheld but with one eighth of the value ordered to be paid by the claimants to the King for salvage.
