A letter from R [Robert] Yard to Lord Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex], concerning parliamentary election results: the defeat of Mr [Samuel] Shepheard and Mr [Gilbert] Heathcoat [Heathcote] in London, Sir Harry [Henry] Hobart in Norfolk, and John How [John Grobham Howe] in Cyrencester [Cirencester], who has won in Gloucester [Gloucestershire]. Also mentions: news of the King of Spain [Charles II's] ill-health; and the impending departure of the Squadron to 'the Straights' [Straits of Gibraltar] under Vice Admiral [Matthew] Aylmer.
