Folios 99-100. A letter from J [John] Ellis to Lord Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex]. Reports that: the Dutch [Netherlands] ambassador has returned home; the King's hunting horses and dogs have been sent to Holland, and he [William III] is expected to travel there also, but when parliament rises, will go to Windsor [Berkshire]; a subscription is being made at the Exchequer to raise £2,000,000 for trading to the East Indies; Colonel [Charles] Godfrey has been chosen Master of the Jewell Office; the Earl of Portland is to have his audience of leave [as ambassador to France; and the Earl of Jersey is ambassador extraordinary; and the French ambassador's [Count Taillard's] entry has not yet been scheduled.
