Description

Folios 95-96. A letter from J [John] Ellis to Lord Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex]. Advises that: the King [William III] has returned to Kensington [Palace, London, Middlesex] but plans to return to Windsor on Thursday, where he will give an audience to the French ambassador [Count Taillard]; the East India Company is said to be willing to give $700,000, or lend £2,000,000, to be established by act of parliament; and that authority to Williamson is being made ready for him to negotiate a 'new Triple League'.
