Folios 77-78. A letter to Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, from RY [under secretary Robert Yard], dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex]. The Earl of Jersey is to replace Lord Portland as ambassador to France, who has been given leave to return; Mr [Matthew] Prior is acting ambassador. The King [William III] is going to Windsor [Berkshire] for the summer, and meetings are scheduled with the ambassadors of France and Sweden. The Duke of Shrewsbury has gone to his house at Eyford, Gloucestershire. Parliamentary news, including a Lords rejection of the Commons bill concerning commissioners for the Malt tax, and for the Customs, who have omitted to take the test.
