Folios 69-70. A letter to Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, from RY [Robert Yard], dated at Newmarket [Cambridgeshire], reporting on the King's extended stay, his meeting with the French ambassador, and his planned return to Kensington [Palace]. The English ambassador in France, Lord Portland, wants to be recalled, on account of the expense he is at; Lord Jersey and Lord Lexington are spoken of as replacements. The King is expected to spend most of the summer in Windsor [castle, Berkshire], but before autumn will 'cross the water' [?to the Netherlands]. The Duke of Shrewsbury's is so ill that he struggles to discharge the duties of [Southern] Secretary of State, and may be named Lord Chamberlain.
