Folio 58. A letter from J [John] Ellis to Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex]. The King [William III], the Prince [George] of Denmark, and many nobility and gentry are heading to Newmarket [Cambridgeshire], but the Duke of Shrewsbury will be unable to on account of his 'spitting of blood being returned again'. Colonel Wharton has recovered from an apoplectic fit. The King will be in parliament tomorrow to pass the bill of three shillings in the pound; and new rules to be introduced limiting public access during the King's presence in parliament.
