Folios 56-57. A letter from J [John] Ellis to Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex]. Advises that the [unidentified] French gentleman may bring his library of books [to England] free of customs. Mr Nathaniel Castleton has forwarded, for the ambassador's use, a book of acts of the Irish parliament past during the [present] reign of King William III and [Mary II] the late Queen. The Duke of Shrewsbury is to be Lord Chamberlain, and Lord Wharton or the Earl of Jersey are candidates for 'the seals' [?Southern Secretary of State post].
