Folio 55. A letter from J [John] Ellis to Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex], advising that the King [William III] and the Duke of Shrewsbury are expected in town [London] tomorrow. Shrewsbury is to be [Lord] Chamberlain, 'but it is not said who shall have the seals' [?Southern Secretary of State post]. Advises that Mr Duncomb has surrendered himself to the sergeant of the House of Commons. 'Mr Stepney is appointed to carry his Majesty's compliments to the King of Poland, upon his accession to that crown'.
