Folios 53-54. A letter from J [John] Ellis to Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex], concerning the duties payable on imported books, according to the advice of Mr Tansom, the secretary of the Customs. Refers to the King [William III] travelling yesterday to Windsor [Berkshire], where he is to meet the French ambassador who is travelling to England, but where a meeting with the Duke of Shrewsbury will be impossible, despite his proximity at Woburn [Bedfordshire], because of ill health. Also mentions Lord Paget's secretary travelling to Holland; and Mr Cressett's appointment to make 'condolences and congratulations to the Elr [?Electress] of Hanover].
