Folios 47-48. A letter from Ja [James] Vernon to Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex], concerning the standing of Holstein and Hamburg [in negotiations]; and subsidies for Denmark. He also forwards information from the Vizir [Vizier] concerning the willingness [of the Ottoman Empire] to come to terms of peace with the [Holy Roman] Emperor. The information is obtained via Lord Paget, from his secretary in Adrianople [Edirne, Turkey], and the terms have been translated into Latin by the chief interpreter Mauro Cordato. There is currently no English ambassador at Vienna. Also mentions that the King is heading to Windsor [Berkshire] with the Duke of Shrewsbury.
