Captured ship: Jacob of Amsterdam (master Siewert Olpherts of Friesland).
History: a Dutch ship (130 lasts, 15 men), bound from Wyburg [Vyborg] in Russia to Cadiz, laden with deals; taken on 7/18 August 1744 by the privateer Rye (John Sargent commanding), and brought first into Spithead, and then into Cowes, Isle of Wight.
