Folios 104-105. [Robert Yard] reporting to Sir Joseph Williamson [Nine Years' War]. Dutch mail from the King's camp at Genap [Genappe] and the Duke of Luxembourg at Soignies, say that Marquis [Louis François] de Boufflers marched towards Namur to observe the forces of Brandenburg. A train of artillery was shipped at Maestricht [Maastricht, Netherlands]; the French are repairing the fortifications and have sent away the women of quality with their best goods to Dinant. The trial of Chevalier de Grandval has not yet ended. In Germany the armies do nothing, the Confederates continuing on one side of the Rhine and the French on the other. Letters from Savoy say that the Duke was resolved to march directly into Dauphiny [Dauphiné]. The forces are all embarked at Portsmouth. The 'James' galley has brought a French privateer of 18 guns and 150 men into Plymouth. A vessel which came from Cork to Bristol reports that two frigates have taken and carried into Kinsale a French man of war of 50 guns. Letters from Portsmouth say that the Duke of Leinster went on board last night.
