Folio 77. [Robert] Yard reporting to Sir Joseph Williamson [Nine Years' War]. The Lords and others who were lately committed to prison have entered their prayers to be tried at the King's Bench, so that they may have the benefit of the Habeas Corpus Act. [Henry Hyde] Earl of Rochester, the Earl of Portland, and Lord [Henry] Sydney are expected back this evening from the fleet. The Dutch post came in from the King's camp at Meldert [Belgium]. They tell us that the Elector of Bavaria with the Spanish horse and the two Bavarian regiments of Cuirassiers, had joined them, that the Baron De Fleming [?Heino Heinrich Reichsgraf von Flemming] with 18,000 Brandenbergers [Branderburgers] will join them, and then the King would have an army of 60,000 foot and 24,000 horse. The King had sent all the heavy baggage away to Louvain, and would march again the next day to fight the French. [Admiral] Sir John Ashby has re-joined the fleet at St Helens without any further action.
