Folio 74(a). [Robert] Yard reporting to Sir Joseph Williamson [Nine Years' War]. An express came from Admiral [Edward] Russell with an account of his having burnt 12 of the enemy's ships in the bay of La Hogue. Reckoning that the French have lost about 20 of their biggest ships. The Lords of the Council went into the City to borrow £100,000. The last mail from Holland was lost, so there is no news from there, except that Namur might be besieged. See also previous folio.
