Folio 67. [Robert] Yard reporting to Sir Joseph Williamson [Nine Years' War]. An express came from Weymouth with an account that the French fleet appeared yesterday in the morning about two or three leagues off Portland standing towards the eastward. At the same time they heard from Portsmouth that Admiral [Edward] Russell was yesterday afternoon out of sight of that place, so that the two fleets must by this time be very near one another.
