Folio 66. [Robert] Yard reporting to Sir Joseph Williamson [Nine Years' War]. The Dutch post reports that the King went to his camp near Brussels. The forces were marching thither because the French had designed to attack some place with one army, whilst the Duke of Luxembourg [François Henri de Montmorency-Bouteville, Duke of Piney-Luxembourg] covered the siege with another. From Vienna they confirm the news of the disgrace of the Grand Vizier [Arabaci Ali Pasha], who was banished to Rhodes, and Hali Bassa [Merzifonlu Çalik Ali Pasha] was made Vizier in his place. [Ernest Augustus] Duke of Hanover has promised, besides the 6,000 men he sends to Hungary, to send 8,000 to the assistance of the Allies on the Rhine. The French fleet was seen from the hills off the Start, and on Friday off Fowey [Cornwall]. The Earl of Middleton [Charles Middleton, Jacobite 1st Earl of Monmouth], Earl of Dunmore [Charles Murray], and Sir Andrew Forrester were taken at a quaker's house in Goodman's Fields, and are committed to the Tower.
